ALLAMAKEE COUNTY, IA - According to the Iowa State Patrol, one person was hurt in a head-on collision at Volney Rd and Smithfield Dr on Monday.
An 18-year-old was driving a 2007 Chevy Impala south on Volney Rd when he strayed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2019 Chevy Silverado operated by a 42-year-old man around 8:55 a.m.
Rescue crews transported the 18-year-old to an area hospital. The other driver was not hurt in the collision.
The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the incident.
