DES MOINES, IA - According to We Are Iowa, officials have released the driver's identity who died following a collision with a semi-truck on the 3800 block of Merle Hay Rd Friday.
A semi-truck driver was traveling north on Merle Hay Rd when they experienced a medical event and strayed into oncoming traffic, colliding with a sedan driver around 8:20 a.m.
Rescue crews pronounced the 40-year-old male driving the sedan dead at the scene and transported the semi-truck driver to an area hospital in critical condition.
