DES MOINES, IA - According to KCCI, a driver crashed into a tree while fleeing from police in a chase that started at E 9th St and Hull Ave Sunday.
Police began chasing after the suspect around 11:35 p.m. The chase was called off when the suspect drove the wrong way on E 15th St.
Another officer began chasing after the suspect and the suspect drove down an alley, lost control of the vehicle, and plowed into a tree.
First responders transported the driver to an area hospital for observation.
Once released, the suspect will be charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of heroin, felony eluding, driving while suspended, and failure to display registration.
