News: 2 motorcyclists hurt following accident near Highland Park

DES MOINES, IA - According to WHO 13, two people were hurt in a multi-vehicle collision near 2nd Ave and Douglas Ave on Friday.

A female motorcyclist was stopped at a stop light when the male motorcyclist behind her rear-ended her around 1:15 a.m. The collision sent the first motorcyclist crashing into a car across the intersection. A third motorcyclist, a 42-year-old male, was able to stop without incident.

Rescue crews transported the two motorcyclists who collided with each other to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The car driver was not hurt in the collision.

Authorities arrested the 42-year-old motorcyclist for operating while under the influence.
