News: Officials release names of men killed in 16-car crash in Iowa City

IOWA CITY, IA - According to WHO 13, officials have released the names of the two men who died in a 16-car collision on I-80 Sunday.

The crash began when a semi-truck jackknifed and blocked the westbound lanes of traffic around 5:30 a.m.

A 57-year-old man, died after he slammed into the trailer part of the semi-truck.

A 37-year-old man was a passenger in the semi-truck and died after he exited the vehicle. It is unclear what caused his death.

The other injuries sustained in the pileup were minor.

The Iowa State Patrol is investigating the incident.
