News: 66-year-old man killed in single-vehicle crash on Edgewood Bridge

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - A single-vehicle crash in southwest Cedar Rapids on Thursday evening claimed the life of a man, CBS 2 reports.

The crash happened at about 7:30 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Edgewood Road Southwest at the Cedar River overpass.

Police say the driver, a 66-year-old man, lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons, causing it to veer off the side of the roadway and struck a tree.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No additional injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
