DES MOINES, IA - A four-year-old child died following a street race on Fleur Dr Tuesday, according to We Are Iowa.

A 35-year-old person was driving a Genesis sedan in a street race against a dark-colored SUV on northbound Fleur Dr when the Genesis driver strayed into the southbound lanes and collided with two vehicles around 6 p.m.

One of the vehicles was driven by a female with two children passengers. One passenger, a four-year-old boy, died at the hospital. The other child and the driver are still in the hospital.

A 40-year-old woman operated the other vehicle that the Genesis struck. Rescue crews transported her to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the collision, the SUV driver fled the scene of the accident. Authorities are asking the public for help in locating the driver. They urge anyone with information to contact them.
