News: Train strikes, kills pedestrian on 330th Ave in DeWitt

DEWITT, IA - According to KWQC, a train struck and killed a man on 330th Ave near US 30 on Sunday.

The Union Pacific train was heading west when it hit the victim around 9 a.m.

Rescue crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Officials are trying to determine the victim's identity. They urge anyone who may have talked to or seen an adult male in the area of Molone Lake around Sunday to contact them.

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office, the Union Pacific Railroad, the Clinton County Medical Examiner's Office, and the Iowa State Patrol are investigating the incident.
