LE MARS, IA - Officials have provided additional details concerning the fatal crash between a semi-truck driver and an 11-year-old riding a dirt bike on the 22000 block of C38 on Saturday, according to KCRG.
A 45-year-old male was driving a 1991 Internation semi-truck hauling a grain trailer east on C38 as the dirt bike rider was heading south on private property. The semi-truck driver hit the dirt bike rider when they turned onto C38 around 10:41 a.m.
The dirt bike rider died in the crash. The semi-truck driver was not hurt.
The Iowa State Patrol and the Plymouth County Sheriff's Office are investigating the incident.
