DES MOINES, IA - According to We Are Iowa, authorities have released more information concerning the fatal single-vehicle crash on E M.L.K. Jr Pkwy Tuesday.
The 19-year-old male driver was driving at excessive speeds when he lost control of his vehicle and slammed into a tree around 8:15 p.m.
Emergency crews found the victim unresponsive when they arrived and began performing life-saving measures on him until medics arrived.
First responders transported the victim to an area hospital, where he died.
