News: Man pleads guilty for fatal Des Moines crash in 2021

DES MOINES, IA - A man has been sentenced for a fatal car wreck at E 14th St and E Washington Ave on May 4, 2021, according to the Des Moines Register.

Quntonio Herron, 30, collided with three motorcyclists. Kristy Hyde, 47, and Jerry Cole, 51, died in the incident. Cole's sister, Stacey Coles-Behles, was seriously injured.

Authorities charged Herron with serious injury by vehicle, leaving the scene of a fatal accident, and two counts of vehicular homicide.

On Wednesday, a judge sentenced Herron to 25 years in prison. In addition to the prison sentence, the judge ordered Herron to pay $150,000 restitution apiece to Cole and Hyde's families.
