BETTENDORF, IA - A crossing guard was seriously injured after being struck by an SUV near Mark Twain Elementary School early this morning.
According to KWQC, the unidentified victim was hit by the 18-year-old driver of a 2004 Jeep Cherokee near 18th Street and Lincoln Road.
The driver was uninjured and remained at the scene. The crossing guard was rushed to Genesis Medical Center with injuries described as significant.
It is unclear if the driver involved will face any charges at this time.
