News: Driver charged in connection to fatal Columbus Jct. crash

COLUMBUS JUNCTION, IA - A man from Fairfield has been arrested and charged in connection to a collision that killed a woman in May 2020, KTVO reports.

The accident took place on May 21st, 2020 within the intersection of Elm Street and Third Street.

Investigators say the suspect, a 36-year-old man, was during a U-Haul truck and intentionally slammed into a passenger vehicle driven by his 29-year-old girlfriend.

The woman suffered fatal injuries as a result of the wreck. The man was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder on Thursday. His bail has been set at $100,000 cash.
