DES MOINES, IA - A man who suffered a head injury while bicycling near Birdland Marina on October 1 is recovering from his injuries, according to Who 13.
Rescue crews transported the victim, a 51-year-old schoolteacher, to an area hospital following the accident.
The man was in a coma for three weeks. He was moved from the ICU to the Progressive Care Unity on October 26. He has been able to breathe on his own since November 1.
