MARENGO, IA - According to We Are Iowa, an unknown number of people were hurt in a fire at Heartland Crush located at 810 East South Street in Marengo Thursday.
An explosion rocked the facility around 11 a.m. Firefighters worked to put out the inferno until 4 a.m. Friday.
Rescue crews transported five people to an area hospital and an unknown number of others were driven to the hospital in private vehicles. Thirty people were inside the plant when the explosion happened.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
