DES MOINES, IA – Two people were hospitalized after their SUV rear ended a semi-truck in South Des Moines on Saturday morning.
KCCI reports that the accident took place sometime before 5:00 a.m. in the 4500 block of Southwest 9th Street near Maxwelton Drive.
Police believe the SUV was traveling at a high rate of speed when it crashed into the back of the semi-truck.
The driver of the SUV and a passenger both sustained serious injuries, but are expected to survive.
It is unclear at this time if the truck driver was injured in the crash.
