DES MOINES, IA – One right lane was shut down on IA-5 in West Des Moines following a car accident Wednesday afternoon, Iowa 511 reports.
The crash was first reported at about 12:49 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway, between I-35 and IA-28.

The cause of the crash is not mentioned in the report.
The right lane was closed for over an hour while crews worked to clear the scene. All lanes were reopened shortly before 2 p.m.
