News: Crews battle house fire in freezing temperatures

LECLAIRE, IA - Firefighters battled a house fire in icy temperatures on Pebble Creek Dr Tuesday, according to KWQC.

A neighbor reported the house fire to dispatchers around 10:42 a.m.

Heavy smoke and fire erupted from the house when firefighters arrived at the scene.

The cold temperatures caused problems at the scene, including accessibility to the residence, slick ground, wind spreading the fire, and freezing hose lines.

One firefighter was hurt in the incident. Rescue crews transported the firefighter to an area hospital. They have since been released.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire.
